The Arts are Basic Coalition is an advocacy organization comprised of several arts education non-profits in Maine: including the Maine Alliance for Arts Education, the Maine Thespians, the Maine Music Educators Association, and the Maine Art Education Association.
To celebrate the end of Maine’s “Arts in the Schools Month,” the Arts are Basic Coalition planned on a week of celebration, involvement, and advocacy. They wanted updated graphics including a logo for the event, professional but eye-catching flyers, and social media material to advertise the upcoming event.
Starting With Color
For the ABC, I proposed professional yet artistic fonts, appropriate for materials sent to local senators, and yet not overly stuffy. The color scheme was based off a more saturated version of their organization’s main color (cyan). I paired this with a darker toned cyan, a deep navy to give the palette more “gravitas” and a pop of orange for energy.
